Who Loves Ya, xevinx?
1. LJ Name: graceless_me
2. Age: 23
3. LJ best viewed on: I only really use firefox on PC, at 1204x768, but it appears to work on on IE, and I haven't tried on a mac. Anyone?
4. Why did you choose the Component style? Because it's so customisable and pretty. And because component_help seemed to be the best s2-assistant community on LJ.
5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout: I'm still very much in the learning phase. I intend on losing the "links" component for a more compact drop down list of links in the next 24 hours. I also want to change the color scheme, but that will be last I think.

I am really interested in suggestions rather than a rating at this point.

Also, I'm curious as to whether this comm is still active at all.

Color Scheme: (18/20) I love the muted grey color, my second choice to the default orange soda colors - It makes the layout clean and simple - easy to read.

Navigation: (15/20) Your navigation could use a bit more personalization. Your recent posts may be blocked because I am not on your friend's list, however I find that component always helpful if you don't have it. A "memories component" can also be useful for navigation, where you manually fill a component with links to some of your favorite or most important posts.

Originality: (13/20) This category is difficult to score, considering the broad scope of journals that have taken use of the customizable component layout. So much has already been done, that it is difficult to stand out. To help improve this score, I would recommend maybe a header picture above the navigation, or possibly an intro post. For what you have modified, however, I have to give you props. Coding is a bitch (especially for those of us who don't know anything about it -like me- who are just good at replicating and following directions). Use your imagination on this one. That's all I can really say.

Use of Component Boxes: (13/20) I am a total fan of the recent cds, books, and movie components. It is telling of your interests (and never hurts if someone buys something through the amazon redirect). I would recommend adding a little more to your profile component to tell a little more of who you are or possibly some contact info if you wish to make it available.

Customization: (16/20) The scope of your customations obviously took some time. I'm not familiar with the friends filter or tags components, though I would group them together simply for ease of navigation if they prove to be useful.

Average Score: (15/20) These are just my suggestions of course and are heavily influenced by my own preferences. Take a glance at my journal to see some of the things I was referencing and see if you like the way they look.

Thanks for your feedback. I haven't been on livejournal for AGES, but this has made me want to make the time again. Cheers mate.

Yours is very pretty, by the way. I might "borrow" some ideas.
